Putting the head on

Q: My challenge is the idea of telling fifty business people that they can "put the head of a client on." I've done it, I know it works, but I almost need another identity to do it. In fact, that's it, maybe I need someone's head.

A (by Ed): I explain that if you want to know what a person is feeling or thinking, or how well their physical senses are working, you can imagine that you are "putting their head on," like you would put on a helmet. It allows you to tune in to them.

You are not actually putting their head of, of course, it is just a technique to allow you to experience what they are experiencing.

You are establishing rapport. Caring about them. Caring enough to want to know first hand what their experience is so that you can be a better friend to them, etc.

Native Americans have a saying, that to know someone you have to walk a mile in their moccasins. It is the same kind of idea. You can look from the outside all you want to, but to really know what the other person is thinking and feeling, you need to see it through their eyes, so you imagine that you are putting their head on.

Identify the real problem

I heard once that in most cases, when a person appears to be angry, they are not really angry so much as hurt. I've found that to be true in my experience. Often we are not the target of their anger.

So when you imagine putting somebody else's head on, you find out what is really in their heart. Can their ever be an better definition of love?

An example

One of my instructors, Marie Buckingham, is a very religious and proper lady. She says "the back of your lap" rather than use the word "backside." Never had a drink in her life, or did anything improper. So you can imagine how she felt when she worked a case on a missing husband one day:

A graduate had asked Marie to work the case on her husband since he had been gone for more than a week. Marie scanned his body and didn't find any problems, which seemed to rule out any accident.

Then she decided to "put his head on" and look around to see what the surroundings looked like.

It looked like a motel room. With him sitting on a bed that appeared to have been occupied by two people.

And there was another person in the room. A woman. And Marie felt dizzy, could not think very clearly, her speech became slurred... and she became very embarrassed. For herself as well as for the man's wife who was sitting there witnessing everything.

At least now Marie knows first hand what it feels like to be drunk.

More uses for this technique

It is a great tool to use to locate missing persons. Put their head on, look around, and figure out where "you" are. Then you know where they are.

A real estate agent had been taking a married couple around showing them exactly the kind of houses they said they wanted. But they kept finding reasons to reject them. So finally, as they were walking through yet another house, the real estate agent sat down, closed her eyes, went to her center and put their heads on, one at a time.

She found out that the husband couldn't afford the houses they were looking at, but he was embarrassed to tell his wife.

So she imagined putting the wife's head on to find out what was really important to the wife, how much it would take to make a house acceptable to her.

Armed with that insight, she took them to a house that had all of the features that she had sensed the wife wanted, and was in the price range that she sensed the husband could afford.

They bought the house.

The best thing for everybody concerned

It is like everything else we do... a technique to help us detect information that we can use to solve problems, and to help us achieve success in our endeavors... as long as those Laws of Programming are followed.

And if you don't obey the Laws of Programming, you will soon lose your ability to do these things, you will not receive any help from higher intelligence, and the old saying: "What goes around, comes around" will most surely catch you and make you wish you had never broken the law!

Better and better

Ed

Here is the response we got a few days later:

Hi Ed,

I have put several (about 10) ''helmets'' on in the last couple of days. One was N., a man I am interested in doing business with. The information I picked up was that he was very relaxed, happy to participate in the business venture with us, if it worked well then great, if not he would have the information to develop his own format based on the things we had passed on to him.

From his perspective it is very much a win win. I am slightly wary of this and would probably like some advice. He could go off and do his own thing with information he got from me, which is fine if that's meant to be, but I don't want to give him the ammo to do it. Am I being too defensive? (No, you are not being too defensive. Ed)

I also put my 5-year-old daughter's head on and immediately smiled, I felt her young energy. The sensations seem quite subtle and I seem to be working at deeper levels of the mind. Is this as you would expect. Previously I have only done it in training courses, not for general benefit, usage. Would you say I am on the right tracks? (Yes, I would say you are on the right track.)

Also I have been putting the person on my mental screen using visualization, without knowing their full date of birth or address, is this OK. It seems to work. (Yes, this is OK. Knowing the person's age locates you in time, so that you detect information about them at the time they have to problem. Knowing gender, location, etc., helps you to tune in to the right person, but none of that is actually necessary.)

Influencing political leaders?

Could I do it for instance with our national political leaders? I have been having internal conversations with them in order to improve the understanding of each other.

Absolutely. Juan Silva told us a story once. He had returned from a long overseas trip and had not yet adjusted to the "jet lag," so he was up quite late watching television.

On the screen, he saw the leaders of the United States and Russia, together at a meeting. "I thought to myself," he said, "there they are, right now, I am seeing them live. I do not have to guess what they are doing right now, or what they look like. That will make it very easy for me to visualize them cooperating and getting along."

So he went to his level and programmed for them to find things to agree on, and for relations between the two countries to improve.

Juan didn't mention it again. But a few months later, the television networks were broadcasting live pictures of the Berlin Wall being torn down.

Coincidence?

We'd say yes... remembering how Jose Silva defined "coincidence." He said that a coincidence is God's way of showing His hand. Ed
