Rapport statements

Use the word "Relax" in case anyone starts exhibiting signs of nervousness. You can hear Jose Silva himself give more details about this in the recording below.

Important: Never force anybody to take the course or go through a conditioning cycle. This could place you in serious legal jeopardy if they have known or latent psychological problems. At low brain frequencies - where memories of past experiences are stored - they might access a traumatic experience.

Never tell somebody they must complete the course in order to get a refund, or refuse to return an advanced deposit to them if they don't attend the course. That violates our own Laws of Programming - it is definitely not the best the thing for everyone concerned. There is no benefit to a customer who cannot make it to class.

Always put their needs first. Watch your students and if they show any signs of discomfort or distress, bring them out of level and find out what's going on.

Jose Silva explains the importance of Rapport

It is for people with psychological problems. Going to lower brain frequencies is like going back in time brain-wise, and some people with traumatic experiences in their background might go back to them. Rapport gives you tools you can use to bring them out of the traumatic memory:

You can help them avoid go back by pre-conditioning: "If you feel you must open your eyes, then open your eyes and make yourself comfortable. Then when you are ready, close your eyes and continue with the exercise."

This recording is from his Metaphysical Laws of Success Course in 1996:

Triggering traumatic events

Transcribed from the first Silva UltraMind ESP Systems Instructor Training in 1998, presented by Jose Silva and Jose Luis "Pepe" Romero. There were three new Instructor Candidates, including Rev. James Murray and Dr. John La Tourrette, who were already teaching Silva courses.

Jose Silva: In researching with people, there are some human beings that have traumatic events, maybe from childhood. The first time they enter deeper levels of mind, they may trigger one of those - going back in the mind, like age regression, going back in time.

If they happen to have had a traumatic event in their life, it is going to trigger now, and they are going to repeat it, as it happened then.

So initially you need to be careful. Luckily, not too many human beings have traumatic events, but there are some. You want to be on the lookout for them, because they can ruin the whole class.

They might start screaming... laughing... or crying... or fainting, right in class. This would ruin the whole class; people might be wondering if they are going to be next.

When you first start a new class, you want to observe to see who is the introvert, and who is the extrovert. The extrovert talks a lot, wants to be the center of attention. The introvert sits in the corner watching everybody else.

You want to watch these people. Put them on the front row so you can keep an eye on them.

While you explain what you are going to do, in conditioning them and taking them into level, you then tell people, "Occasionally, I may just say, '1-2-3- eyes open, everybody out'."

When you see somebody (looking tense), stop it immediately, before it triggers. When you see they are getting tense, then they are going to trigger it if they keep on going, and start screaming, or... play back whatever happened.

So that is one thing to look out for.

When you notice somebody is introverted or extroverted, they should be on the front row, so you can watch them. If they start to have a problem, stop and bring everybody right out. Then ask them what is wrong.

They may tell you they are afraid of the dark, or whatever. Tell them to open their eyes, walk around, let it wear off, then come back and continue. If you feel it again, open your eyes again, let it wear off, then come back again and continue.

If you see them sweating, turning pale, fidgeting, bring them out.

We had all kinds of things happen when we were researching: Falling off chairs and hitting the floor, fainting, laughing and not knowing why, crying and not knowing why. Everybody (in class) wants to know what's going on here, are people going crazy or something?

This is a traumatic event, that people have had prior to seven years of age. It always happens before seven years of age.

The hypnoanalyst, who takes care of these problems, is doing it by age regression, looking for traumatic events and discharge the trauma. They know how to do it; these people (hypnoanalysts) are the specialists at treating it, the hypnoanalysts. You don't want to try to solve anybody's problems. It takes a highly specialized person, trained in the field, to know how to detraumatize it. You might make it worse instead of improve it, if you don't know how to go about it.

We'll be talking a little bit about how they do these things. We've done it before.

This is only for your knowledge, not for the lay people. They should get to this level before they know what's going on. It is for you to know, just in case, to be prepared.

If the person has a problem, you tell them how to handle it:

"If you start feeling this, stand up and open your eyes. Let it wear off, and then try it again, until you catch up with the rest of us." You may find that they desensitize it, that they themselves get control over it, keep it from happening.

We say that, "If you are under psychiatric care, we are not supposed to take you. You go ask your psychiatrist if... he says okay, we will accept you. But we need his permission if you are under treatment right now, by a psychiatrist." If they can't get it, we don't take them, give them their money back.

We don't want to interfere with the psychiatrist's work, by deepening and conditioning a person...that might interfere with the work. We don't want that. For fainting spells, or under psychiatric care. That's why we ask this on the registration cards. If they put it down, don't take them, unless we get the doctor's okay.

Pepe: This is for your information. We have had lecturers teaching for years and never had this happen. But if it does, you will know how to handle it.

Jose Silva: There is something we do when we have an epileptic come into class, sent by his doctor. We have had doctors prescribe it. This automatically solves many health problems - especially fainting spells and epilepsy, automatically. They are healed when they take the basic course... we had the worst case of epilepsy, gran mal, be resolved just by taking the course.

But when they come, we must know. We require that they come with somebody who knows what to do when they trigger an attack, a friend or relative who knows what to do.

Seat them in a chair with arm rests, up against the wall, and the person who knows next to them. If they don't agree with this, we don't accept them. Put them way back in the back of the class.

If they trigger it in class, the one who knows what to do takes over, and is way back and does not interfere with the whole class. If they are in the middle of the class and have an attack and fall to the floor in front of everybody, then you have a problem, have to stop the whole thing.

That's the way we've done it, and it has worked very well.

We know that several things are solved automatically. Migraine headaches are solved automatically, and epilepsy is solved automatically.

We can't say we heal people, because we will get in trouble with the medical profession. But it so happens that graduates have told us that they have experienced healing in these areas. Graduates have told us, and we have information in the files where we have in writing where a person has aid I used it for this and for that...

Graduates are saying that they have been healed by taking the training, not that we are promising that you will be.

Pepe: One of the graduates who was sitting in the class yesterday (name), sitting right up front, said that she had had migraine headaches from the age of seven to the age of 32. She attended the class, and simply by going through the exercises, they went away.

She said she was taking so many pills a day, but yet just going through the exercises - and she didn't even need to use the Headache Control Technique - just going through the exercises got rid of it. She is so grateful, she has been without headaches for about seven years now.

James: Only had one abreaction in all the time I taught, half the class didn't even know it happened.

In the middle of a sermon, somebody had seizure, I stopped, said Relax, take a deep breath, and go deeper, it worked.

Jose Silva: The problem with this is... it is called the all-or-nothing concept. It's a program that is complete, in a copy-cat way. It's got to play itself over, like so, until finally it is over. How long it takes depends on many things.

So it is automatic. You cannot stop it half way. You can stop it before, but not in the middle, once it is triggered that's it.

So this keeps it from triggering, stops it from triggering, to have controls.

Epileptic... person needs to keep them from getting hurt before the seizure ends.

Traumatic events were established prior to seven years of age, when the mind functions only inductively. They are connected in the subconscious, automatically with the environment. Environmental sounds, words... whatever... can trigger it, if you happen to come across it again, the word, sound, or whatever, triggers it again.

The only way to correct it is for someone to go back to when it happened, and let the person know what's going on and what is triggering this, and bring this knowledge to the mind, at seven years of age, when the mind is functioning deductively.

Once that information is taken from the subconscious into the consciousness, it is neutralized automatically. It won't trigger anymore.

Now that's the job of the hypnoanalyst. To look for information, to bring it out when he is beyond seven years of age... they always look for it prior to seven years of age, when the mind was functioning automatically inductively. After seven, mind starts functioning deductively, then you have more controls of your faculties, that you didn't have then. Before it is automatic.
